Modern Apprentice

the second ikara colt album 'modern apprentice' will be released on june 7th 2004 through Fantastic Plastic. the album will be available initially on a limited edition cd version and and limited LP. the LP will be limited to 500, and will come with a bonus, one-sided, silver 7" of the cd's hidden track 'surf german'.

Cardiff Barfly 2003

6 and a half years ago the yeah yeah yeahs headed over to the UK ahead of the release of their "Fever To Tell" album. they opened their tour with a secret gig at Cardiff Barfly on 22nd February 2003. and in support of them than night were Ikara Colt.
I went along to that show (and followed the band across the country for the following week) and recorded it. there was talk about an Ikara Colt DVD around the time and the footage was submitted for possible inclusion. No DVD was ever released and up until this point no 1 has seen this footage.

i will share footage from the whole tour in the next few months. but right now i want to share that intimate show, where Wanna Be That Way and I'm With Stupid received their 1st live airings.

The EP was available on CD and ltd 7" double pack in the UK and was released through Fantastic Plastic. The EP also recieved a US release on Epitaph Records, this version also included the "May B 1 Day" video.

Chat And Business

Chat and Business is the debut album from British post punk / art rock band Ikara Colt. It was released on Fantastic Plastic Records on March 4th 2002 (released in Europe and the USA on Epitaph Records, and in Japan by Maximum 10 Records). The record was disqualified from the UK album charts as accompanying stickers, which the purchaser was to match with the captions below spaces on the cover of the album, were deemed to be a free gift.

One Note was released on the 1st October 2001, a week later than was expected due to the changing of the cover image. the original artwork featured a falling builing, in the aftermath of 9.11 it was deemed inapropriate.The single is available on CD and Ltd. 7" Vinyl and features two B-sides, Surf #2 and Kite. Like Sink Venice, One Note has been selected as single of the week by Kerrang Magazine
